Thursday Press #8: Plug-and-play pin titles to increase your click-throughs
[11 NOV 2021] Plus your daily dose of cuteness!
STEAL MY BEST PIN TITLES
We'll keep this one short and sweet, mostly because I want to get to the good stuff (aka the kitten pictures). ICYMI, we adopted two kittens last weekend from a rescue in South Carolina, and to say I'm obsessed is an understatement. Just look at their faces, you'll know what I mean.

… moving on – let's talk pin titles
We already know that success on Pinterest is a multi-variable equation
Now, before memories of your high school calculus class start making your head spin, let’s break it down:
scroll-stopping pin designs + keyword-rich pin title + description = successful pin
All of these variables serve a different function:
Your pin designs should stop the endless scroll of Pinterest users as they sort through their search results. Bold, clear, high-quality images are key here
Your pin titles provide both Pinterest’s algorithm and Pinterest users with essential information about your pin.
Your pin descriptions are your best opportunity to supercharge your SEO with lots of keywords, making them really important to the Pinterest robots, but they don’t often get read by the average Pinterest user
Take a look at this scroll-through of the mobile Pinterest home feed. Other than the pin images, the only thing you really see is the pin titles.
Making sure your titles are unique and enticing will let you test different keywords and give your pins an extra chance to drive that click through to your website!
When I do this for my clients, I brainstorm 10-12 different pin titles per blog post, but today? I’m handing over my shortcut for click-worthy pin titles. Think of it like a mini swipe file to get you over the hump of those Tailwind drafts you’ve had sitting for a while!

Don’t be afraid to add some urgency or extra-compelling magic words like “today” or “for free” or “easily” to zhuzh it up even more
(I still don’t like the way zhuzh is spelled, btw)
As always, make sure you’re not misrepresenting your content. Clickbait-esque titles are compelling, but no one actually likes clicking through a link and not finding what they expected.
