Let me know if I'm the only one, but February seems to have been just as short as January was long (and more than just by 3 days).
Despite that, so many exciting things happened this month! From a new website launch to the rebranding of the weekly newsletter – you can read all about that here – and finally meeting some online friends in person…
There was a lot to love in the month of love, and now I'm sharing even more!
Read on for all the things I've been loving this month!
Favorite Book: I want to do better about actually reviewing and sharing the books I read this year. I always track them for my Goodreads yearly challenge, but it's hard to remember exactly what I thought about them months or years later.
With that in mind, my favorite book this month was Emily Henry's Book Lovers. Technically I read this in January, but of the 3 books I've read in February so far, they were all solidly mediocre.
In other words, Alex Michaelides's The Maidens didn't live up to the excitement of The Silent Patient.
Favorite Podcast: After asking for podcast recommendations to get me out of a slump I started… none of them 🫣 But I did start listening to National Park After Dark, which explores the dark side of national parks across the globe.
And I promise I'll get to the others! I'll need to if I plan on keeping up with this section.
Favorite Desk Tunes: Valentine's Day was the perfect excuse to rewatch one of my favorite shows – Heartstopper. And since then, I've had the official mixtape on repeat! Super fun and poppy!
Favorite Self Care Activity: Grounding. Generally speaking, grounding is any kind of therapeutic technique that helps you recenter, reconnect with the here and now, and distract from any spiraling thought patterns.
I always kinda… scoffed at them? I'm a very active person and most mindfulness activities have me up and pacing in less than a minute. But if you can find the right practice for you, grounding is incredibly helpful.
One common grounding practice is the 5-4-3-2-1 technique, where you list 5 things you see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste.
But grounding could be as simple as just paying attention to the feeling of the soles of your feet on the floor or in your shoes. This article from Healthline has even more ideas.
Fave Saves: In an attempt to maybe squeeze some business-adjacent content in here, here are a few bangers of posts I've saved on IG this month:
Favorite Coffee Order: Listen, friend, if you have any information about what grocery stores stock the mythical Chobani white chocolate raspberry creamer, you're legally obligated to tell me.
Not really, but I'm desperate to get my hands on it!
In the meantime, I've really been vibing with an afternoon iced coffee moment, with Stok cold brew, obviously.
And of course, here's this month's favorite cat picture:
