Thursday Press #56: aren't you glad this email isn't about Black Friday?
[25 NOV 2022] Lifestyle Edition Vol. 009
Oh heyyyyy bestie! I know your inbox is a prime place to be this season, so I'm honored you opened me up.
I considered skipping this week of newsletters bc my own unread emails have become unmanageable with a new deal or offer every minute.
But I love sharing my monthly favorites with you like a true old-school lifestyle YouTuber, and I don't plan to stop any time soon.
So take a break from the promotions and enjoy taking a peek inside my life for the past month. Spoiler alert, it looked a lot like this…
Favorite Follow: There's a secret DIYer inside me just begging to be let out, especially whenever I see a project from @sunrisevalleyfarm.co. She's turning her house into a life-size gingerbread house this year and I'm digging the cozy holiday vibes.
Favorite Show: November hasn't been much of a month for media, but several shows & movies I enjoyed this month were The Watcher, Don't Worry Darling, and My Policeman!
Favorite Desk Tunes: Truly, not much has changed as far as my listening preferences in the past month, but I've had a few good solid days vibing with this classical music playlist:
Favorite Self Care Activity: Sadly, my grandfather passed last week. It was (mostly) expected, but no less sad. As such, most of my “self care” this month has been allowing myself to ride the waves of grief & emotion.
One of my favorite analogies for grief that I find super helpful is that grief is like a shrinking ball inside a box. The simplified premise is that you feel the pain of grief every time this ball hits a “pain button” on the wall of a box.
The ball shrinks as time goes on, but it's always moving, and it's always there. At the beginning, it's hitting that pain button A LOT. In a few weeks or months, you may forget the ball is there, until it suddenly rams into the pain button.

Favorite Coffee Order: This order comes to you via Morgan Yates, one of my favorite YouTubers (and fellow UNC grad) – Starbucks Sweet Cream Cold Brew with peppermint syrup instead of vanilla syrup.
I love this one because it's uber-customizable. I'll usually do half vanilla and half peppermint, but you can go for whatever ratio you prefer. It's the perfect seasonal iced drink imo!
And of course, here's this month's favorite cat picture:
November's been a relatively quiet month here, but there's lots going on behind the scenes. If you've been feeling the same, you're not alone. Thanks for hanging out, pal. ❤️
