Thursday Press #44: So you wanna make moola from Pinterest
[1 SEPT 2022] all about Pinterest creator rewards
So you wanna make money from Pinterest…
Have no shame in that multiple-streams-of-income game!
Most people come to me with some sort of financial end-goal, whether that's clients, a bigger audience they feel confident raising their prices based on, or getting that sweet sweet Creator Reward cash out
That's right, we're talking the taboo, the secretive, the early-beta-testing-potentially-💩-show Creator Rewards program.
(& a few other ways to make money from Pinterest because – again – diversification!)
First things first – what is the Pinterest Creator Rewards program?
I'll pull this one straight from the source:
“Creator Rewards is a program for creators to earn money for creating original Idea Pins in response to monthly reward goals created by Pinterest. Pinterest will pay creators directly for their most inspiring, quality content and organic engagement.”
Creator Rewards is completely idea pin based, so if you haven't started creating them and this is one of your goals, jump on the bandwagon.
There are (of course), a few criteria to be eligible for the program:
Must be 18+
U.S. residents only
Have at least 250 followers
Have created at least three Idea Pins in the last 30 days
Have 150 saves of your published Pins in the last 30 days
Create original content
Ohhh “original content…” We can't escape it.
Each month, you'll get different reward goals in the Creator Hub on your Pinterest mobile app, and you can create and submit idea pins to these goals.
Heads up: most require you to use video and the payout eligibility sometimes depends on how many saves you get.
So what's the actual tea? 🐸☕️ Jury's still out :/
There have been rave reviews of creators making thousands of dollars from Pinterest Creator Rewards. And on the other hand, there have been plenty of people disappointed with the outcome.
So much depends on things that are largely outside of your control – how many people submit for a reward, what's trending on Pinterest, your niche, fickle user behavior, you name it.
But don't let that discourage you. If it's something you want to take advantage of, you can start working towards that (and I can help you 😉).
Honestly dude, this email got lengthy QUICK. So whatd'ya say we pick up with more ways to monetize your Pinterest next week?
